LG 52LG70 52-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

The LG70 series are the ideal HDTVs for home theater enthusiasts. If they prove one thing, it's that nobody demands more from LG products than LG itself.
Customer Review: Bang for Buck Performance knock out!
this tv is great, first off- the remote. its simple, doesn't have thousand buttons on it- its simple, and easy. the picture is great if you are watching HD and blu-ray, but if you are watching standard definition, then its best to watch it on your old tv (but since everything is pretty much in HD anyways- be patient). the color saturation is accurate- meaning- its not to 'rainbow-ish'( there isn't an exaggeration of colors, every color is natural ) ex. the tide commercials are bright white, and the road on nascar is black really black, but you can see a clear distinction of color and detail between the road and the tires- (remember they tar the road before its driven on- so the road looks like new) unlike some tv's **coughs - sam - coughs - sung** for the price, i couldn't find a better tv. i bought the tv, 3 year coverage, and hdmi cables (12ft) for under 2,000.
Customer Review: HD picture awesome all others horrible
If you are watching strictly HD then this may satisfy you. However, if you switch to a non-HD channel the picture is worse than my 13" with rabbit ears. the blacks all blend together and the shadows bleed leaving black blotches. I have gone through every conceivable adjustment and the picture is just not what one would expect.

When looking for a refurbished HDTV, what features should you look for? Well, what features to look for in a TV, depends primarily on your circumstances and the reason for buying a TV. In this article, we will discuss the lcd vs. plasma debate, and what you should look for in a refurbished HDTV. After all, a refurbished HDTV is like a new one.

Okay, so there's this universal debate about HDTVs: lcd or plasma. Following are the good points to each.

Lcd: If you'll use the TV mainly for games and also as a computer monitor - then choose the lcd. Also, if your room has a lot of direct sunlight, and you'll view the HDTV when it's bright, an lcd is a better choice.

Plasma: But if you're passionate about watching movies, or if you watch a lot of sports and you need to be able to really see the action well - then a plasma tv will be better, because of its instant response time and high refresh rate. And if you watch TV during the evening, or you close the blinds during the day to block out the light, then a plasma tv fits the bill.

Plasma TVs definitely have more depth (especially its ability to render deeper blacks) than lcd. But it also generates more heat and weighs more.

So, basically the features to look for are the same in a refurbished HDTV and a new TV. After all, the refurbished HDTV is like new; if it's factory refurbished it has passed the test to meet or exceed factory standards. And it has been tested that it works perfectly, too. But, since it can't legally be sold as a new unit, it's to your advantage. When buying a refurbished HDTV, you end up getting so much more value for your money, i.e. bigger size, more features, etc.

One major thing to look out for when buying a refurbished HDTV is to buy it from a reputable dealer. The number one concern when looking for any refurbished product is if it's safe. Spending even a dime for a broken TV is like throwing money in the garbage.
